Safety Meets The Future at Safety First Conference & Expo

16 Dec 2015

The Safety First Conference & Expo - Australia's only one-stop safety event - opens at Sydney Showground this year (May 11 – 13), with a full three-day program that will inform, inspire and engage Australia's safety professionals.
Building on the success of the first-ever Safety First event held in Melbourne last year, Safety First will be co-located with landmark events including National Manufacturing Week, to put safety at the heart of discussions around the future of Australian industry.

National Manufacturing Week is Australia's largest, longest running industry event, bringing together hundreds of manufacturing and related-industry companies from Europe, Asia and Australia. This year's NMW will showcase new exhibitors and innovations emerging industry capabilities based on advanced technologies, systems and processes.

Against this backdrop, the Safety First Conference & Expo will present proven, practical safety solutions in both its showcase of safety solutions, as well as its high-level conference program.

The conference will include both free and Premium Sessions to maximise opportunities for safety professionals to network and share ideas.

Themes to be addressed include Safety Management topics such as risk assessment, dangerous goods handling and risk areas such as lifting as well as all-important Safety Leadership topics around inspiring and leading successful safety campaigns.

One of the crowd favourites at Safety First 2015, high profile industry lawyer Shae McCartney of Clayton Utz returns in 2016 to outline contractor and subcontractor's safety responsibilities on multi-employer worksites.
Event Director, John Gorton comments that the Sydney event is being developed with a keen eye to feedback from last year's inaugural Safety First event.

"The first Safety First event showed us that industry professionals are hungry for opportunities to forge networks and  most importantly, share information and ideas for achieving their workplace safety goals," Mr Gorton said.

With this in mind, Safety First will back its conference and expo with an unique meetings service. These pre-arranged executive business meetings will give industry professionals an unique opportunity to meet privately with matched companies - from across the Safety First and broader National Manufacturing Week stage - to discuss shared objectives and opportunities.

To make the most of the Safety First program, Gorton recommends registering now for the event, at Registration is free - and it's the best way to make sure you get all the details to make the most of this exciting event when the doors open in Sydney, from May 11- 13 2016.
